Fall 2022 Admits

FALL 2022 FIRST YEAR ADMITS

If you are interested in Summer Session 2022 classes, below are some suggestions.

Lower level classes (numbered 001-099) at UC Merced are intended for first years or sophomores.

Use the Schedule of Classes (open course list) to view open seats in summer classes.

  • Click the CRN (5-digit number) for the course to view a description and any prerequisites.

It is generally recommended that first year admits take a maximum of 2 classes (usually 8-9 units) in summer.

Use BAC lower level GE Courses for Summer 2022 for a list of General Education (GE) classes offered at UC Merced in Summer 2022.

SCIENCE OR ENGINEERING MAJORS

Complete a college math class (college Precalculus, Calculus I, Calculus II) or college chemistry class during summer.

A summer math class is especially important if you did not complete a year of calculus in high school and plan to do a science or engineering major at UC Merced.

ALL MAJORS

Complete a course to fill General Education (GE) requirements.

Take a course in your intended major.

  • Use the 2022-23 Catalog to view all courses required in your intended major.
    • Click on Academic Programs in the left column.
    • Click on your intended major and click on each course to read a description.
    • You can also click on Course Descriptions in the left column to view descriptions of all UC Merced classes.
  • See our Sample Grad Plans page with links to view the sequencing of courses in your intended major.

IF YOU HAVE NOT SATISFIED ELWR

All first years must complete the UC Entry Level Writing Requirement by the end of your second semester.

If you have not satisfied ELWR in another way, complete Writing 001 in summer.
