How and Where to Register for Fall 2021 Classes

The direct link to log on to My First Term Planner for your School of Natural Sciences major is:

After you have developed a preferred schedule on My First Term Planner, log on to MyRegistration in your student portal at connect.ucmerced.edu.

Check your assigned registration time in MyRegistration.

Fall 2021 first year admits:  registration times are randomly assigned between Mon. June 28 and Thurs. July 1, 2021.

 

To register for classes in MyRegistration at your assigned registration time:

1.  After you have identified your preferred classes and class times, check the Schedule of Classes (open course list) to view the number of open seats and the CRN (5-digit course number) for each part of each class.

 

2.  On MyRegistration, add the CRN (5-digit course number) for each part of the class (lecture, lab, discussion) and submit.

 

3.  Check for the word "registered" next to each class on your schedule.

 

4.  Check the total number of units in which you are registered.  You must be enrolled in at least 12 units to be full-time.

Enroll in 12-17 units at your assigned registration time for the best selection of classes and class times.

 

REMEMBER:

Adding courses to your PLANNER (the “shopping cart” on the right side of My First Term Planner) does NOT enroll you into the classes.  You are simply saving the courses that you would like to take in Fall 2021.

 

HAVE A QUESTION?

The BAC academic advisor who sent your course recommendation email on June 24-25 will be your temporary summer academic advisor through August 19, 2021.

 

EMAIL

If you have a question after you have planned your Fall 2021 courses in My First Term Planner, contact the Bobcat Advising Center (BAC) academic advisor who sent your course recommendations email on Thurs. 6/24 - Fri. 6/25/21.

If you send an email, use your UC Merced email account (only) and include your first name, last name, and student ID number on all messages.

 

RESPONSE TIME

During Summer 2021, our BAC academic advising team will be working with more than 3,100 first year admits for Fall 2021 and will be at every New Student Orientation program.

We will respond to emails as soon as possible and appreciate your patience waiting for a reply.  In general, email responses may take 1-3 business days.

 

WALK-IN ADVISING

Sometimes it's quicker to ask a question "in person" (on Zoom) than to send an email! 

Stop in to walk-in advising (drop in advising on Zoom) with your BAC temporary summer academic advisor between June 24 - August 19, 2021.  We are here to help and we enjoy meeting our new Bobcats!

Walk-in advising is limited to 10-15 minutes when other students are waiting.

Note:  you will receive information about your 2021-22 BAC academic advisor on August 20, 2021.
