Registering for these courses can be tricky because there are multiple course sections you will need to register for unlike the average courses.
Registering for BIO 11, BIO 12, CHEM 2, and CHEM 10
BIO 11, BIO 12, CHEM 2, and CHEM 10 have three different sections: lectures, discussions and labs. Each lecture will always have specific linked discussion which can be found when you search for the lecture. Labs, on the other hand, must be search separately by adding the letter “L” after the course number. For example: BIO 011L or CHEM 002L.
Although the lab section is not linked with the lecture, the lab is considered as a co-requisite. Co-requisite means the course must be completed before or taken at the same time as the lecture.
You must register for the lecture, discussion, and lab section at the same time to successfully complete the registration. Missing any part or registering for the incorrect linked section will result in an error.
Registering for CHEM 008, PHYS 008, PHYS 009, PHYS 018, and PHYS 019
CHEM 008, PHYS 008, PHYS 009, PHYS 018, and PHYS 019 are unique as there are four sections you must register for: lecture, discussion, lab "lecture", and lab “discussion”.
When searching for the lecture, you will find both lectures and linked discussions only. You must search for the lab section separately by adding the letter “L” after the course number. For example, CHEM 008L or PHYS 018L.
When you search for the lab section, you will find both lab lecture and lab discussion. Although the lab lecture section is not linked with the lecture, the lab is considered as a co-requisite. Co-requisite means the course must be completed before or taken at the same time as the lecture.
You must register for the lecture, discussion, lab lecture and lab discussion at the same time to successfully complete the registration. Missing any part or registering for the incorrect linked section will result in an error.
