Every year in the month of February, all current UC Merced students are assigned a Summer Session registration date and time. Check your registration portal for your assigned date and time.
This year summer session registration date and time is between Monday, February 23 to Friday, February 27, 2026.
- Summer registration remains open 24 hours a day after your assigned time
- Visit the Summer Session website for more information on last day to add and drop summer courses.
- Summer classes fill quickly! The best approach is to register at your assigned time.
*Non-UC Merced students could enroll in Summer Session starting Monday, March 2nd. *
Summer Session are typically not cover by Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), however, here at UC Merced, UC Merced students may qualify for some summer aid through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships (OFAS). Learn more about summer aid here.
To be eligible for this summer aid, you must meet all three (3) specific criteria
- You must be a continuing student at UC Merced
- You must have a completed FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) for the current academic year on file.
- You must enroll in a minimum of six (6) semester units at UC Merced.
- Nine (9) quarter units if you are taking summer course at a different UC campus during summer.
**Summer financial aid applications are expected to open during the first week of March and is on a first come first serve basis. **
If you are taking summer courses with UC Merced and meet all the criteria above, you are automatically provided with summer aid. Summer aid is on a first come first served basis.
You will need to complete the application if you are taking summer courses at a different UC campus.
