Common Registration Errros

When registering for courses, it is common to come across a registration error. Registration errors will appear if the system recognize there is an issue with your registration attempt. Some errors can be easily fix while others may required addtional steps. Here is a list of common registration errors and how to potentially fix the error.

Reason: You are missing a linked section tied to the lecture/discussion Two or more sections are overlapping  Course is restricted to specific major(s) only. You are missing the prerequisite to take the course You are attempted to register for a course you are already completed or are currently enrolled in
Next steps:

Check if the course has a linked discussion. Click on the "View Linked Courses" button on the right. 


Add both the lecture and linked section and submit the course at the same time.


Make sure the linked section is the correct linked section.

Find a different section that may fit with your schedule instead, if possible.


Adjust your schedule to fit the new course, if possible.


Contact all professors involved about time conflict. If approved by all professors, submit a Time Conflict Override Enrollment form.

Consider a different course to register for instead.


Consult with BAC academic advisor, if you have interest or plan to change major.

Check the course for the prerequisite and check your academic record.


Consult with BAC academic advisor if you have the prerequisite completed.


Register for the prequisite course instead, if you are missing the prerequisite.

Course repeat is only possible if you received a non-passing grade for the course.


Wait for final grades to be posted.


Consult with BAC academic advisor.
