Undergraduate Studies (USTU) 10: Introduction to Undergraduate Studies is an interactive 1-unit course designed to help new first year students navigate campus life and develop strategies for effective learning at UC Merced.
Class assignments include reflective writings and engagement in campus activities that promote self-empowerment and academic success.
USTU 10 is taught by a variety of instructors with pass/no pass grading only. The course counts as 1 elective unit toward the 120 units required for a degree.
Some sections of USTU 10 are restricted to first years in specific programs or first years who have been accepted into certain residence hall Living Learning Communities.
Other sections of USTU 10 are open to all first years.
