Our Mission

The Bobcat Advising Center (BAC) is the academic advising home for all first year students in every major, all lower division undeclared transfers, and all continuing undeclared students in any class year.

We promote student success through academic advising appointments, walk-in advising, workshops, and connecting students with appropriate resources.

Our team is here to support your educational journey as you work toward your personal, academic, and career goals.

We are located in Kolligian Library (KL) 122.

  • KL 122 is on the first floor near the elevator and next to the Lantern Cafe/coffee shop.

  • Check in for BAC academic advising at the large front counter.

Welcome to both our new and returning Bobcats!

Success Tips

Fall 2023 Admits

Complete the three mandatory trainings (Sexual Violence Prevention, Alcohol Edu, and Mental Well-Being for Students) by the training deadlines.  These one-time trainings must be completed by every new admit early in your first semester at UC Merced.

If you plan to apply for a job on campus, complete the additional required trainings for all student employees.

Read your UC Merced email daily.

Review the 2023-24 Academic Calendar for important dates and deadlines.

Mid-semester grades in lower level classes (numbered 001-099) will be posted by professors on Tues. October 17.

Spring 2024 Registration for Current Students

Mon. Oct. 2:  spring class schedule available and assigned registration times posted in MyRegistration.

Mon. Oct. 30 to Fri. Nov. 3:  priority registration for students in certain approved cohorts

Mon. Nov. 6 to Fri. Nov. 17:  assigned registration dates and times for current UCM students.  Register in 12-16 units at your assigned time if you might receive financial aid in Spring 2024.

Being on the waitlist for a closed class does NOT count toward full-time status.

Mon. Dec. 11 at 11:59 pm:  registration and waitlists "freeze" for current students (no changes allowed) so Spring 2024 admits can register.

Thurs. Dec. 14 at 9:00 am:  registration and waitlists "unfreeze" (reopen) for current students.
