Major Restriction

A major, minor or concentration restriction error means that the course is only open to students already declared in certain majors.

Check the Schedule of Classes (open course list) to see if a class is restricted to specific majors or minors.

This error often happens with fall semester classes when certain courses are reserved for the incoming first years or transfers in specific majors.

Common major restriction errors include courses in BIO, CSE, MATH, PH, SOC, and other departments.

If you are changing majors or are a non-science major who is pre-health, connect with your BAC academic advisor if you need assistance.
